A Creative Wave Is Coming: Treasure Beach’s Inaugural Art Festival

This Easter weekend, Treasure Beach will transform from its usual serene ambiance into a vibrant celebration of creativity.

From April 19 to 21, the inaugural Made In Treasure Beach Art Festival will infuse the south coast with art and handmade creations, all rooted in community spirit.

The Jamaica Gleaner recently highlighted the festival, emphasizing its unique nature. This event is a collaborative effort by local artists and community members, showcasing something entirely new and special.

All Local, All Handmade

The festival will feature exclusively handmade items crafted by residents of greater Treasure Beach. This commitment to local talent is the essence of the weekend, ensuring that everything on display is genuine and authentic.

On Saturday, April 19, the Art & Craft Marketplace will take place at the iconic Big Kasha Tree at Kim’s Place. Attendees can expect to find wood carvings, pottery, textiles, original paintings, jewelry, and much more—all created by local artisans.

Artists Sharing More Than Just Their Work

The festival is not merely about sales; it’s about energy and connection. It’s rooted in the importance of sharing experiences through art.

On Sunday, attendees will have the opportunity to explore studio tours throughout the area, from Billy’s Bay to Great Bay, allowing them to meet artists in their creative spaces. While Treasure Beach is widely known as the home of community-tourism and the internationally acclaimed Calabash Literary Festival, the underlying artistic pulse of Treasure Beach is now getting another showcase for all to experience.

Monday: Make It With Your Own Hands

The festival will conclude with hands-on workshops and demonstrations. Participants can gain insights directly from the artists involved in the festival.

No Red Tape—Just Real Effort

What’s particularly inspiring about this event is that it has come together through community effort without major funding or sponsorship. The collaborative spirit, skills, materials, and passion of the local community have made this celebration possible.

Whether you’re a local resident, a visitor, or an art enthusiast seeking authentic experiences, Treasure Beach promises to be the place to be this Easter.
