Annual Independence Boat Parade Aug 6th
As we recover as a community after Hurricane Beryl, plans are to have the annual Independence Boat Parade on Aug 6th. The armada of boats will depart Billy’s Bay at 10am and return to Calabash Bay for the 12 noon Independence Day celebrations. Frenchman’s Bay, Calabash Bay, and Old Wharf coast lines will be hailed as the boats make their way along the coast line towards Great Bay before turning around and heading back towards Calabash Bay.
Once they return, the plan is to have an Independence Day celebration in Calabash Bay.
Boat sponsors are requested and Flags are being sold for the event.
This has been a great community event over the years and the hope is that this year we can celebrate Jamaica’s 62nd Independence as well as being grateful for the community that has come together for the resilient effort after Beryl.
