Support the Cause – International Coastal Cleanup is Saturday, September 17th
Sponsored globally by the Ocean Conservancy, the 2024 International Coastal Cleanup mobilizes volunteers worldwide to tackle the problem of trash in our beaches and waterways.
Local organizations supporting this effort include The JK Breast Cancer Foundation and The Treasure Beach Women’s Group.
The Treasure Beach Women’s Group will focus on cleaning Frenchman’s Bay and Billy’s Bay, while the JK Breast Cancer Foundation will target Calabash Bay and Fort Charles Beach.
With plastics, bottles, straws, and general litter harming our coastal environments, whether it’s International Coastal Day or everyday, it’s inspiring to see dedicated citizen’s stepping up to make a difference.
This year’s theme for International Coastal Cleanup Day is #SeatheChange.
