About
Richard Gordon is an abstract painter. He began painting in 2015, and it became his passion.
At 14, he worked in his father's grocery store on the Pedro Keys. One August, he stayed behind while his brother went to sea; his brother never returned. That loss changed everything. He stopped going to the Pedro Keys, spent a decade working on boats, then 20 years in auto body repair.
At 42, he started painting at his place in Billy's Bay. By 50, he had returned to boat-making, blending his art into his work. Now boats symbolise his experience, and his painting reflects his creativity and the stories he tells.
