Sheldon Hill is a young self-taught tattoo artist, born and raised in Treasure Beach, who tattoos under the name Proto Ink. Having loved drawing since high school, he started tattooing three and a half years ago, wanting to do something he loved and to be part of the change in the Jamaican tattoo scene.
He is also dispelling the conventional wisdom that some skin is too dark to get a tattoo. He carefully selects his inks and builds his designs around each skin colour, whether they are his own designs or images people suggest. People come from all over Jamaica for his tattoos, and some tourists visiting Treasure Beach too. He lives in Treasure Beach and currently works in the gift shop at Jakes.
