About
Jack Sprat is a seafood and pizza restaurant on the beach in Treasure Beach, on Jamaica's south coast, popular with locals and with guests staying at Jakes Hotel. Its slogan is "Wickedest Seafood & Pizza". The kitchen grills fresh seafood and makes pizzas with toppings such as pepperoni, jerk chicken, shrimp and lobster. There is an ice cream counter, an ATM on site, and beach bonfires from time to time.
The atmosphere is much of the draw. The open-air deck looks over the sea, the music is always going, and there is usually a game of dominoes, ludi or backgammon under way. There is a rum bar, and covers from classic ska, reggae and dance records hang on the walls. The crowd is a mix: police officers, students, the local mayor and visitors from all over the world.
It reopened on 11 November 2025, two weeks after Hurricane Melissa, following a restoration that was its second major one in 16 months, after Hurricane Beryl.
