About the founder
Empress Thandi Wise, Certified Wellness Coach
Retreat leader, ECYT-800 certified yoga teacher, colon hydrotherapist, health and wellness coach and licensed massage therapist, Empress Thandi is the founder of Wise Wellness, the yoga centre and health food store in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, where she teaches a holistic lifestyle and still finds time to co-host wellness and yoga retreats. Her work has gained international recognition, and has been featured in Vogue Brazil in 2019 and Condé Nast Traveler in May 2021.
She grew up in Jamaica, and first learned ancestral wisdom and herbology from her grandmother in White Horses, St. Thomas. Her grandmother and her father were known in the community as the Bush Doctors. After some time living and studying in the United States, she moved back home to share her passion for ancestral wisdom and organic farming, hoping to make an impact on wellness tourism in Jamaica and globally. She now lives in St. Elizabeth, home of her mother, Queen Ma Diddi, a full-blooded Maroon who still farms using organic practices that honour the land.
Her mission is to help all beings activate their natural and innate wisdom to heal and balance the mind, body and spirit, using ancestral wisdom and natural modalities.
