About

The Girl and the Magpie is the name of a jewellery and wearable sculpture maker with a background in art history. Her practice has two parts: handcrafted fashion jewellery (unique pieces or limited series, often including natural materials) and, work situated at the intersection of jewelry, sculpture, and installation, intended for exhibitions, performances, fashion shows and publications.

She began making jewellery in Burkina Faso and continued her training in Belgium. For 15 years now she has been living and working in Treasure Beach, Jamaica, and her jewellery is the result of these different cultural influences. When not making jewellery, she promotes the artists and artisans of Treasure Beach, running the Made in Treasure Beach platform and organising events.
