The Treasure Beach Rum Bar Crawl is on Saturday, November 7, from 2:30 to 5:30 pm: six bars, six rum drinks, starting and finishing at the Jack Sprat parking lot. Here is the order the crawl takes.

It is also the Battle of the Rum Bars. Along the way, patrons rank each bar on several factors, and a winner is declared at the end of the tour. In 2023, Edgewater Inn and Bar was crowned the inaugural Champion Bar. Who takes the title this year is up to you.

The route

Start: the Jack Sprat parking lot, Calabash Bay.

  1. Nanny’s Bar, Old Wharf

The drinks

The main sponsor of the Rum Bar Crawl is J. Wray & Nephew, makers of Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum.

Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum

The rum drinks served along the crawl, one at each bar, and what usually goes into them. Each bar pours its own way.

  1. Rumpari, at Nanny’s Bar: Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum and Campari over ice, topped with grapefruit soda and finished with a slice of orange. Bitter, sweet and citrus, and born in Kingston.
  2. Rum Punch, at Edgewater Inn and Bar: the Jamaican classic. Wray & Nephew Overproof with fresh lime juice, sugar syrup and fruit juice, a dash of bitters and a grating of nutmeg.
  3. Boomshot, at Lloyd’s Bar: there is no written recipe for this one, so here is our guess: a shot of Wray & Nephew White Overproof with Boom energy drink. The bar will tell you the rest.
  4. Gravel and Stones, at Island Time Bar-Grill-Gifts: Wray & Nephew White Overproof and ginger wine over crushed ice. The sweet ginger wine takes the edge off the rum. You may also hear it called Stone and Gravel.
  5. Dark and Stormy, at Pardy’s Rooftop Bar: rum, ginger beer and fresh lime over ice.
  6. Steel Bottom, at Eggy’s Beachfront Bar and Restaurant: a shot of Wray & Nephew White Overproof topped with cold beer, a rum bar favourite for anyone who finds the rum too strong on its own.

Reserve your spot

The crawl is US$60 per person and seats are limited. Every participant also gets a recovery package, and they will likely need it: a token recovery pack of Andrews (too much party last night), Panadol and rehydration salts, along with a souvenir rum cup. Call 876‑965‑3000 or message 876‑564‑3000 on WhatsApp to reserve your spot. You must be 18 or older to drink, and remember to crawl responsibly. Find the crawl on our events calendar, and the rest of the festival at foodrumreggaefestival.com.

The party moves with you

You won't be crawling in silence. The J. Wray & Nephew sound system travels with the crawl from bar to bar, so the music is already playing when you arrive at each stop. Six bars, six rum drinks, dominoes slamming, old friends and new ones, and the tall tales getting taller as the afternoon goes on. By the time you are back at Jack Sprat, cup in hand, you will have seen a side of Treasure Beach many visitors miss. Come thirsty, crawl responsibly, and help crown this year's Champion Bar.
